This version is dramatically lighter than previous models. It means it's easier to make fast and accurate movements, making it an outstanding choice for fast-paced, reaction-based gaming. Even though it's extremely light, it has the excellent build quality and feels very sturdy. Under the hood, this new version has exceptionally low click latency, an extended advertised battery life of up to 80 hours, updated optical switches, and Razer's new Focus Pro 30K sensors, arguably the most accurate sensor currently available. These performance gains were achieved by removing several features that previously defined this lineup. Missing features include RGB lighting and rubber grips.
Also, this new version only has side buttons on the left, while previous models feature side buttons on both sides, making them true ambidextrous options for left-handed users. If you're interested in possible alternatives, check out the Razer Viper Ultimate. It's significantly heavier, but it's currently much cheaper and a great option if you're a fan of some of this lineup's legacy features. Or, if you like the sound of all the Viper V2 Pro's improvements, but aren't enthusiastic about its shape, check out the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro. It has a comfortable, right-handed shape with a thumb rest and twelve programmable buttons, which is great for games with more complicated controls. It also has a solid advertised battery life of up to 60 hours with the RGB lighting off. In raw performance, it has excellent click latency and a high-end sensor that provides outstanding performance across the board.
Note that this mouse is much heavier than options like the Razer Viper V2 Pro, and there's even an included set of optional weights you can use to adjust the weight distribution. Its body has narrow pill-shaped cutouts on the palm rest and in small areas on either side. It also has a very simple, strut-like baseplate rather than a solid plastic plate found on most mice. These weight-saving construction methods give the mouse an appearance that may not be to everyone's taste, but while it may make it look more fragile, our testing found that it feels very solid and well-built. That said, the design does leave the interior more open to dust and debris.

For a budget option that offers a high-quality wireless gaming performance, we recommend the Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED. This mouse connects with a LIGHTSPEED USB receiver and has an impressive battery life, advertised at up to 250 hours using a single AA battery.
